About us

Home is calling

Motherland brings Africans at home and across the diaspora closer to culture, identity, community, opportunity, and one another. Through year-round storytelling, diaspora programs, partnerships, cultural experiences, and a flagship festival, coming home becomes something people can experience, access, and help build.

Why we exist

Distance should not
mean disconnection.

Millions of Africans live, study, work, create, build families, and grow businesses outside the continent. While their connection remains strong, practical and emotional distance can make culture, trusted services, community, and opportunity feel harder to reach.

Motherland helps close that distance - making home feel reachable again, whether the return is physical, emotional, or practical.

We are not simply celebrating Africa. We are creating pathways back to it.
